Ahmed Shahit, a 55-year-old male of Yemeni descent, was tragically shot and killed on March 31, 2014, in Henderson, North Carolina. Shahit was working as a store clerk at the Best Bet Food Mart on Raleigh Road when two men entered the store at approximately 10:30 p.m. and demanded money. During the robbery, Shahit was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Shahit had moved to the United States in search of a better life, leaving behind his wife and children in Yemen.
