Raymelle Jake Smith, a 31-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 4, 2014, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the northern part of the city, where Smith was fatally shot. The circumstances surrounding his death were deeply distressing for his family and the community.
