Raekwon Shannon, a 19-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on January 2, 2016, in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. on Ruth Circle, where Shannon was visiting family and friends for the holidays. Shannon, who was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, was home from Spokane, Washington, and was preparing to return to Washington State when the tragedy struck.
