Hanee Heron Byrd, a 37-year-old man from Fayetteville, NC, tragically died on February 9, 2016. His body was discovered in a wooded area off Meharry Drive near Shaw Mill Road. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head. The discovery was made by a passerby who called 911 around 1:30 p.m. that day. Byrd's body was found about 50 to 75 yards from the edge of the woods, and it appeared to have not been there for a long time.
