Tyler Gilbert, a 16-year-old African-American male, was tragically found dead on May 18, 2016, in Maple Hill, North Carolina. Tyler, along with his 19-year-old brother Deandre Gilbert, had been reported missing since May 15, 2016. Their bodies were discovered in a rural area of Onslow County, near a dirt road. The Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that Tyler died from a gunshot wound to the head. Deandre's autopsy results were pending at the time of the report.
