Miguel Wenstley, a 19-year-old male, was found dead in his home on Sunset Drive in Milton, North Carolina, on June 4, 2016. Caswell County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene around 1:15 a.m. and discovered Wenstley suffering from a gunshot wound. Caswell County Emergency Services pronounced him dead at the scene, and his body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The initial investigation did not reveal a motive or suspect in the case.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of three individuals in connection with Wenstley's death. Jonathan Marquette Hicks, a 41-year-old male from Milton, and Ronnie McDowell McCain, a 32-year-old male from Semora, were arrested on murder charges on June 8, 2016. Kymon Obrien Haley, a 17-year-old male, was arrested the following day. Hicks and McCain were held without bond in the Caswell County jail, while Haley was jailed under a $1 million secured bond. The authorities released few details about the incident but confirmed that the investigation was ongoing.
