Anthony Charles Smith, a 51-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on October 8, 2016, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Smith was employed as an armed security guard at a Food Lion store located at 2316 E. Market Street. On the evening of the incident, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Smith was found unresponsive at the entrance of the store, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
