John Wesley Pruitt Jr., a 41-year-old white male, was tragically killed on February 14, 2017, during an attempted robbery at a Family Fare convenience store located at 2918 Guess Road in Durham, North Carolina. Pruitt, who was working as a store clerk at the time, was shot by a 16-year-old suspect named Jarrell Paylor.
