Maurice Antonio Cuthbertson, a 32-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 25, 2017, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Maurice, affectionately known as "Fella" to his family and friends, was a dedicated father, loving son, and loyal friend. He had recently earned a degree in Business Administration from Guilford Technical Community College and was looking forward to becoming an entrepreneur.
On the night of his death, Maurice was at his home on Bloomfield Drive
when he answered a knock at his door. Upon opening the door, he was shot by an unknown suspect or suspects. The incident occurred at approximately 11:35 p.m. Maurice's body was found inside his home by responding officers. The investigation revealed that the suspect or suspects had knocked on his door before shooting him.
Despite efforts by the Winston-Salem Police Department to solve the case, Maurice's murder remains unsolved. The police have released a video in hopes of turning up new information, but no arrests have been made, and the identity of the suspect or suspects remains unknown. The community continues to mourn the loss of Maurice, a man remembered for his soft-spoken nature and encouraging words to those around him.
