Rakeem DeQuante Brown, a 23-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 26, 2018, in Burgaw, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. as Brown was walking near his grandmother's home in the vicinity of Satchwell and Bodenheimer streets. According to reports, multiple gunshots were heard, and Brown was struck at least twice.
