Quavist Diwaun Phillips, a 20-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on May 1, 2018, in Salisbury, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. in the 300 block of Ackert Avenue, near Tillman Street. Phillips was found lying in the middle of the street with a gunshot wound. Emergency responders and police officers arrived at the scene following several 911 calls reporting a gunshot victim. Despite their efforts, Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene.
