Tevin Javonte Snow, a 25-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 4, 2018, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred on West W.T. Harris Boulevard near IBM Drive, not far from Vance High School. Snow was driving when another driver fired three shots through his car window, causing him to lose control and crash into a guardrail.
Despite being rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, Snow succumbed to his wounds the following day.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting, initially struggling to gather forensic evidence due to the nature of the crime involving two moving vehicles. Major Mike Campagna of CMPD highlighted the challenges in collecting evidence in such cases. The police identified the shooter and the victim as acquaintances, ruling out the possibility of a random road rage incident.
In the days following the shooting, CMPD arrested three suspects in connection with Snow's death. Demahj Wright, 21, Demetrey Leake, 20, and Oyontai Bostic, 19, were charged with the murder of Tevin Javonte Snow. The suspects were taken into custody and placed in the Mecklenburg County Jail after being interviewed by detectives. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
Snow's untimely death left a void in the lives of his family and friends. He is survived by his father, Todd Snow, his mother, Allene Mobley, his grandmother, Julia Snow, and his three brothers and three sisters.
