Nelson Gregory Goff, a 19-year-old male, tragically lost his life on May 29, 2019, in New Bern, North Carolina. The incident occurred late on a Wednesday night when Goff was shot in the 200 block of Poplar Street. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots around 11:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Goff had been shot. He was initially transported to CarolinaEast Medical Center and later airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where he succumbed to his injuries.
