Kris Audrey Bryant, a 49-year-old African American male, was found dead in his home on Bowen Blanks Drive in the Riegelwood area of Columbus County on August 13, 2019. His body was discovered by a relative who noticed that his car had not moved from the night before. Upon arrival, deputies from the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office found Bryant dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The investigation began immediately, with the authorities treating the incident as an isolated case.
