Amari Reshad McCaskill, a 20-year-old Black man, was tragically shot and killed on August 20, 2019, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred on West Trade Street, where Amari was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite being transported to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
