Cesar Otniel Felix, an 18-year-old male from Jacksonville, NC, tragically lost his life on November 8, 2019. The incident occurred during a home invasion on Lake Cole Road, where masked intruders forced their way into the residence. The assailants, dressed in dark clothing, shot and killed Cesar Felix Jr. and injured his girlfriend. The attack was believed to be targeted, but no suspects have been identified.
Cesar Felix Jr., who had recently graduated from White Oak High School and was
preparing to join the military, lived with his grandparents in Midway Park. He often visited his girlfriend at the home where the attack took place. Despite the initial investigation, the case went cold due to a lack of leads and witness cooperation. However, the Onslow County Sheriff's Office reopened the case in September 2023 after receiving new information and potential leads.
Cesar Felix Sr., the victim's father, has been relentless in his pursuit of justice for his son. He continues to push for answers and encourages anyone with information to come forward, even anonymously. The Sheriff's Office believes there are individuals in the community who possess crucial information but remain silent out of fear or mistrust. The biggest challenge in solving the case has been getting witnesses to share what they know.
The tragic death of Cesar Otniel Felix remains an unsolved mystery, with his family and the community still seeking justice. The Onslow County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information to contact them, hoping that one day, the truth will come to light.
