Derrick Malloy, a 34-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on January 20, 2020, in Dunn, North Carolina. The incident occurred just feet from his home on North King Avenue and next door to his grandfather’s church. According to his sister, Nikita Malloy, Derrick was coming from his mother’s house with a plate of food in hand when he was shot twice—once in the back and once in the shoulder. He died on the way to the hospital.
