Raymond McFayden, a 77-year-old man from Fayetteville, NC, was tragically shot and killed on June 6, 2020. The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Henderson Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found McFayden suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that there was a disturbance prior to the shooting. However, no suspect was found at the scene. The investigation continued, but as of now, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Fayetteville Police Department has urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and contact Detective S. Catlett or Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crimestoppers.
