Michael Scott Adams, a 55-year-old white male, passed away on July 23, 2020, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Adams was a criminology professor at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and was known for his conservative views and outspoken nature. His death was ruled a suicide by the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, with the cause of death being a single gunshot wound to the head.
