Williams was found dead on the porch of a house on East Avenue in High Point, North Carolina. She died from a gunshot wound to the head in what police described as an apparent murder-suicide. The other individual involved was Andre Cousiamono, a 27-year-old man from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Cousiamono also died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Andre Cousiamono had a history of stalking and harassing Brooklyn Williams. He was arrested on August 21, 2020, for felony stalking and cyberstalking related to incidents that occurred in January 2020, where Brooklyn was the victim. Cousiamono was out on a $15,000 bond at the time of the murder-suicide. He also had pending charges of misdemeanor stalking, communicating threats, and harassing phone calls, all involving Brooklyn Williams.
The investigation revealed that Brooklyn and Andre were not involved in a romantic relationship but were prior friends and co-workers. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on the day of the incident. Police discovered a handgun on the porch with Cousiamono, along with a loaded magazine for the handgun in his pocket. They also found a holster for the handgun and binoculars in a vehicle.
High Point police are still investigating the case, but they believe that Andre Cousiamono killed Brooklyn Williams before taking his own life. The tragic incident has highlighted the importance of stalking awareness and the need for better protection for victims of stalking and harassment.
