James Lee Christel, a 35-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on September 14, 2020, in Pineville, North Carolina. Christel was fatally shot following an argument in the parking lot of the Countryside Shopping Center, located on Pineville-Matthews Road. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on that fateful Monday night. Christel, a father of three, was known for his cheerful demeanor and was described by his wife as a good man who was always happy and smiling.
