Fredrick Cox Jr., an 18-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on November 8, 2020, in High Point, North Carolina. The incident occurred during a funeral service at Living Water Baptist Church. As shots rang out from a drive-by shooting, Fredrick Cox Jr. attempted to usher attendees to safety. In the chaos, he was fatally shot by a plainclothes Davidson County deputy who was attending the funeral as part of an investigation into another murder.
