Derreck McDonald, a 36-year-old male, was identified as the offender in the murder of Zuri Norman, a 26-year-old male, in east Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred on October 30, 2020, around 11:30 p.m. near Winged Elm Court. Norman was found with an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
McDonald was killed on December 12, 2020, before police could charge him with Norman's murder.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department established probable cause in the homicide of Zuri Norman after McDonald's death. The investigation into McDonald's death is ongoing, and no arrests have been made in connection with his murder.
