Patrice Matthews-Faison, a 38-year-old African American woman from Ahoskie, North Carolina, was tragically shot and killed on January 22, 2021. She was sitting in a vehicle parked at the old Sunoco gas station on NC Highway 42 West when she was fatally shot. The gas station had been closed for several years, and she died at the scene. The Ahoskie Police Department, along with the State Bureau of Investigation and the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office, launched an investigation into her murder. ...
