Tyshawn Chavis, a 24-year-old African American male from Durham, North Carolina, was tragically killed on July 23, 2021. Chavis, along with 26-year-old Donovan Bright, was found shot to death inside a car on the entrance ramp to Interstate 85 at Duke Street in Durham. The incident occurred just after 4 p.m., and both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
