Dymond Fowler, a 19-year-old African American female, was found dead in a ditch, while her best friend, 17-year-old Alexis Patterson, survived by pretending to be dead and later running to a nearby home for help. Donovan Amire Bright was arrested in Guilford County and charged with multiple offenses, including first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, felony conspiracy, first-degree kidnapping, and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.
