Marcos Perez, a 21-year-old male, tragically lost his life on August 21, 2021, in Durham, North Carolina. The incident occurred during a high-speed street race on Interstate 77 in south Charlotte. Marcos Perez was driving a silver BMW, reportedly racing another vehicle at speeds exceeding 100 mph. The crash happened just after 1 a.m. in the northbound lanes between Tyvola and Woodlawn roads.
