In the winter of 2015 in Detroit, Michigan, a 62-year-old woman named Vanessa Audette Broadnax was found deceased in her home on December 16th. The discovery prompted an extensive investigation by the Detroit Police Department as it became clear her death was not from natural causes. The investigation determined that she was the victim of a violent homicide, having suffered severe and brutal injuries.
