Lamar McCoy, a 20-year-old African American male, was tragically murdered on June 9, 2022, in Gastonia, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. while Lamar was sitting in his vehicle at a gas station on North Chester Street. Several shots were fired, striking Lamar multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. The vehicle he was in had multiple bullet holes, indicating the severity of the attack.
