Jamielle was working at the Fox & Hound restaurant near Northlake Mall when a dispute erupted inside the establishment. The altercation began when a drunk male customer's credit card was declined, leading to a confrontation. The situation escalated, and the suspect fired multiple shots, one of which struck Jamielle.
He was transported to Atrium Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

Keenan Doliveira, who also goes by the alias Tremaine Omar Adams, was arrested on December 8, 2022, in New York. Doliveira is awaiting extradition to Mecklenburg County and is charged with murder. Justice Davis was arrested on October 11, 2022, and charged with felony accessory to murder after the fact. Davis is accused of driving Doliveira away from the scene and helping to conceal evidence.
The Fox & Hound restaurant where Jamielle was shot has since closed permanently.
