DaShawn "Dae Dae" Maurice McNeill, a 16-year-old African American male, tragically passed away on October 11, 2022, in Erwin, North Carolina. DaShawn was found with a gunshot wound to his lower torso and was transported to Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, NC, where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident occurred on the 700 block of West M Street, near a park, and was not believed to be a random act.
