Lamonte Jacobs, a 21-year-old Detroit resident, was shot and killed on July 5, 2016, during a block party on the city’s east side. The incident occurred in the 5300 block of Cooper Street, amidst a large gathering for the Fourth of July celebrations. The attack left Jacobs fatally injured, and despite community efforts to identify the shooter, the case remains unsolved.
