Marshal Riley Bowman Wright, a 35-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was shot and killed on February 21, 1904, in Winnfield, Louisiana. Wright was a deputy marshal who was attempting to arrest a suspect for operating an illegal establishment known as a "blind tiger." During the arrest attempt, the suspect shot Wright, leading to his death.
