Narvin Alex Powell Sr., a 61-year-old male officer with the Winnfield Police Department in Louisiana, tragically lost his life on September 26, 1992. Powell was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a burglary suspect. The suspect had broken into a local business and was hiding under a desk when Powell discovered him. During the arrest, the suspect attacked Powell, gained control of his service revolver, and fatally shot him.
