Lieutenant Sidney A. Zaffuto, aged 50, was shot and killed on January 8, 2004, while working an overtime assignment as a security guard at a bank in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. Zaffuto, a dedicated member of the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office, was disarmed and held at gunpoint by three suspects who entered the bank to commit a robbery.
