Thelonious Anthony Dukes Sr., a 47-year-old African American male, was a dedicated detective with the New Orleans Police Department, having served for 19 years. On October 13, 2007, while working on his motorcycle in the driveway of his home, Officer Dukes was approached by several armed men.
