In the early morning hours of June 27, 2010, the life of a young Black man, Justin Edwards, was tragically cut short. At the age of 22, Edwards was shot and killed at the intersection of Washington Avenue and South Rocheblave Street in New Orleans. The incident, which also left another man wounded, unfolded around 2:30 a.m., shattering the quiet of the night with the sound of gunfire.
