In the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans, a burst of gunfire on November 13, 2019, tragically cut short the life of 43-year-old Sheldon Clark. The male victim was discovered in the 2800 block of Phillip Street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene, but Clark’s injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
The New Orleans Police Department swiftly classified the case as a homicide and launched an investigation into the
fatal shooting. Several months later, in May 2020, the NOPD reached out to the public for assistance in the ongoing investigation. Detectives announced they were seeking to identify and locate multiple 'persons of interest' who they believed might have information regarding the shooting death of Sheldon Clark. Authorities released images of these individuals in the hopes that public recognition would lead to new information.
Despite the appeal for public assistance and the circulation of the images of the persons of interest, the investigation into Sheldon Clark's murder has not led to any publicly announced arrests. The case remains an open and active investigation.
