On the night of February 15, 2013, 81-year-old African American woman Doretha Richardson was tragically killed in her home in Bridge City, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 11:55 p.m. in the 300 block of Fifth Street. Authorities reported that the shooting began outside her residence, with bullets penetrating the home and striking Ms. Richardson multiple times as she stood in her kitchen.
