Lawrence Daniel Chavez, a 29-year-old Hispanic male, tragically died on January 29, 2014, in DeRidder, Louisiana. Born on July 12, 1984, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lawrence was the son of Lawrence and Cora Chavez. He attended Cibola High School and later completed his GED. At the age of 19, he joined the U.S. Army, serving as a Health Care Specialist for seven and a half years before transitioning to the U.S. Army Reserves as an Information Technology Specialist.
