In the late winter of 2025, the community of DeRidder, Louisiana, was shaken by the tragic death of Douglas "Doug" John Robare, a 55-year-old Caucasian male. On Monday, March 3, 2025, Robare was fatally shot near the recreational area of Bundick Lake in Beauregard Parish. His death has been officially classified as a homicide, prompting an active and ongoing investigation by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office.
