Shalom Smith, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 23, 2014, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Shalom was found with multiple gunshot wounds alongside another victim, Kentrell Bankston, a 21-year-old male, on the side of the road in Lakeview. The New Orleans Police Department received a call about shots fired in the 6000 block of Craigie Street in New Orleans East, where the shooting is believed to have occurred.
