In the late spring of 2014, a tragedy unfolded in the community of West Monroe, Louisiana, claiming the lives of a young mother and her two small children. On Saturday, May 31, 2014, 25-year-old Katelin Dulaney, her four-year-old daughter Adeleen Forbis, and her three-year-old daughter Laila Forbis were found deceased. The cause of their untimely deaths was determined to be gun violence, a shocking event that left the local community in mourning.
