Louis Maurice Brooks, a 25-year-old African American male from New Orleans, Louisiana, was tragically shot to death on April 23, 2015. Brooks and his girlfriend, 26-year-old Diamonique Lewis, were found dead in their home in the New Orleans East neighborhood. The incident was believed to be a home invasion, as police received a call about shots fired around 3 a.m. The couple's two children, who were present during the shooting, were unharmed and taken to stay with other relatives.
