Madeleine Recktenwald, a 7-year-old girl from Marksville, Louisiana, tragically lost her life on July 8, 2015. The incident occurred in Effie, Louisiana, where Madeleine and her father, Ryan Recktenwald, had been staying with friends. On the evening of the incident, Ryan Recktenwald, 28, shot his daughter Madeleine three times with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol before turning the gun on himself and firing a single shot into his chest.
