In the early hours of Christmas morning in 2016, a festive night out in Detroit turned into a tragedy for Jeffery Jr. Dunbar. On Sunday, December 25, 2016, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Dunbar was fatally shot outside the Dynasty Lounge, located at 12201 Harper Avenue on the city's east side.
