On December 31, 2015, 34-year-old Michael Cavanaugh was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest inside a barbershop located in the 9700 block of Lake Forest Boulevard in New Orleans East. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
