In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 30, 2016, the life of 21-year-old Jarai Andrus of Crowley, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. Andrus was a passenger in a vehicle when another car began to follow them. In a sudden burst of violence, occupants of the pursuing vehicle opened fire. Andrus was struck in the head by a gunshot. He was rushed to Acadia General Hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
He was the only person in his vehicle to suffer fatal harm in the attack.
The Crowley Police Department quickly launched a homicide investigation into what they determined to be a drive-by shooting.
