Miquel Marrero Jr., a 20-year-old male, tragically lost his life on Friday, July 14, 2017, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Known affectionately as 'Pooh' to his friends and family, Miquel was a graduate of Grace King High School, where he was a member of the basketball team. He also had a passion for music, enjoying the process of writing lyrics and setting them to various beats.
On that fateful day, Miquel was fatally shot inside a residence in the Gentilly neighborhood, near the University
of New Orleans. The incident was initially reported as a fatal shooting, leading to an investigation by the New Orleans Police Department.
In the wake of the shooting, an arrest was made. Court records identified the man allegedly responsible for Miquel's death as his roommate. The shooting was described as accidental, and the roommate was subsequently arrested on a charge of negligent homicide.
