Shakena N. Hampton, a 35-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on August 22, 2017, in Ruston, Louisiana. Shakena was shot and killed inside her home on Cotton Avenue. The incident also left her mother, Doris Hampton, and her one-year-old son injured. The suspect in this case was Shakena's ex-husband, Frank Jauron Stringfellow, who had a history of domestic abuse, violating protective orders, and aggravated battery.
