Shakena N. Hampton, a 35-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on August 22, 2017, in Ruston, Louisiana. Shakena was shot and killed inside her home on Cotton Avenue. The incident also left her mother, Doris Hampton, and her one-year-old son injured.
